We have had some lightening in the distance. I actually went out for a bike ride tonight. About 4 miles into my parents house. Quick visit and then turn around and get back home before it gets too dark. Saw several good bolts that I was glad was off in the distance!
That sounds like fun. We have some family/company coming in over this weekend Thurs.-Sun. so won't be traveling to anything. They are driving far enough. I have not been up to the Woodsman's Days in Saranac Lake in many years. Need to go to that sometime again.
Oh, I didn't know they had one there, I'll have to look into that. It's a great drive up to Saranac lake. I think Tupper Lake may have one also.
It went west and north of us. http://www.mpcourier.com/dco/storm-moves-through-potsdam-area-leaves-damage-in-its-wake-20150818
That's right! I remember a movie once where they talked about a legendary mountain man, forgot his name .... What was it...? ZAP..... or something like that. I don't know. There was a guy in the movie that said, "These mountains, there for crazy people, and Backwoods Savage s!" I think the movie was Jeremiah Johnson! I don't know. I have C.R.S. sometimes. I HAVE to watch that movie again.
We just got poured on here! Thought I was done for the day while it was pouring. 10 minutes and it's done for now. Sun is out strong. Time to go back out and do a little more trimming up. Pole saw is running nicely and I don't have to put those hot chaps on with it.
We had one shower and got 1/4" of rain. Looks like it is all over with. As far as I know there were no severe storms anywhere near us. Tomorrow a high temperature of 70!!!!!! My kind of weather.
Not to far from thewoodlands and I they had a Microburst. Took down some trees, took off a few roofs. Potsdam, NY Luckily, no one hurt.
