Introducing the newest member of the family the MS362 outfitted with the 25" bar. I got a 20" bar for it as well. Wow what a difference from the MS250 sitting next to it. The 362 is my first pro saw. This thing is a beast......new proud papa just had to brag a little. image.jpg

Congrats! It's a great all-around saw - I love mine. You can cut up the whole tree with it - it's light enough to use as a bad azz limber, then you can start right into the trunk, cause it's got enough power to handle most of those too.

"Porters" huh? So is she port-ed?

Welcome to the club too BTW! :handshake:

The wife has a ms170 she uses to limb for me once in awhile. She's a little bit of a thing so a saw that size is perfect for her

So far it's a beast. I think it's at its limit with the 25" bar. I'm not complaining but I think that's it for it length wise. With the 20" bar it's an absolute beast. The chips it throws sting a lil even through your jeans:yes:

I'm blessed my whole acreage is thick with hardwoods. Honey locust, red oak, hedge, hickory....mostly hedge and and red oak

Good choice but a little close to the 362. A 440/460 hybrid or a 460 would give you a little more space between CC's. What everybody here is really thinking is get the 440 and follow it up with a 460, then a 660, then a 261. After that you can start on your Husqy line up. Then you can start collecting the vintage magnesium from Homelite, McCulloch, Remington, Poulan, Pioneer, etc. If you stay long enough you will have them ported and my even have dedicated race saws for bragging rights at the GTGs.

My preliminary impressions are that the 362 is at its limit with the 25" bar in hardwood. It runs good, it does the job. It doesn't bog down. But, it's just not the animal I was hoping it would be. It isn't done with its break in period yet and it's still running the stock chain so I'll hold full judgement for awhile. Now when I put the after market20" bar andfull chisel chain on it, it's scary mean. Absolutely eats wood. I've been told that you can't expect full power until you've run 5 tanks through it? I don't know. We shall see. As of now, I'm happy with the saw. I'm hoping when it's broke in I'll be ecstatic.
