Post your thoughts. I will reveal the winners. This comes from an old test, I own the calibers myself and would have to agree. I do not advocate shooting through brush.
What are we hunting? How thick is the brush? I would go 12ga. OO buckshot. But since you said caliber I presume you mean rifle or pistol. Gary
WildWest will decide what the winners will receive, since it is a combination question you may have two cracks at it, pretty tough trivia anyhow
the 30-30 is what everyone around here used to call the best brush gun. the 35 remington was very popular in the first half of the 19th century but the 30-06 is the most popular hunting cartridge overall. i think the term brush gun was more about the short size of the lever guns than actually being able to shoot a bullet through sticks and leaves 30-30 and 30-06 are my answers
Shooting was heavy brush with target out the back side at 10 yards, all calibers were shot 3 times with different grain bullets and a final test with the best performing calibers, funny thing is Hint---ballistic coefficient is real despite some others opinions, the funny thing is only two calibers were even close to target center or even hit the target, fragments were diacarded
