Just tossed a gallon and a half of soured milk on the King. (Funny side story, I have iPad set up for UK English, so it thinks I am referring to the King of England, which is why it's always capitalised. So iPad thinks I tossed sour milk on the King of England). Anyway, this is (hopefully) going to become Cheshire cheese.

I am assuming there will be pics or a video. Can't wait to find out how it turns out.

No video, I will try to snap a few pics here and there. Cheese should be ready in February.

Holy flying _ _ _ _! It is cold out this morning. -17° on the back porch at 5:30 and I was filling the boiler. Made up some hot oatmeal for everyone and coffee for the wife. Down to camp to dump some more pellets in the pellet stove and off to work. Kids school got delayed for 2 hours. My work didn't?:(

Nothing for nothing but I wish I was back in NC temps going up the 70's by the weekend:thumbs: currently it's 12* and snowing here. Good thing is wife and I still on vacation .

I've tried to get work to go along with:"if there is no school in this town, then work should be closed too". But so far, nothing but crickets :p

After one day in the make-shift press. Colours are due to a failed job at dying. Tastes like mozzarella right meow. Three more days in the press before I move to the next step.

Looks interesting. Did you add anything to the soured milk before heating it or before you put it in the press? I have always been fascinated by making cheese but have never attempted it.

I used vinegar and citric acid to help it separate. Removed all the whey.

The whey can be used to make bread if it isn't too vinegary. When I have made tofu, I used the whey that way.

Making another stove top pizza, used cheese whey in the dough and ricotta that I extracted from the whey.

Man. Too much stuff going on to get anything done for wood cutting on first day off this time around. Little Christmas shopping today. Hair cut. Took flat tire off of the Bobcat and brought it to garage. They fixed it for me and I put it back on and plowed out the road and parking area at camp. Then off to little ones Christmas concert at school. Hopefully tomorrow I will get out to cut some wood. I would like to get another 3-4 cord blocked and out of the woods before any more snow hits.
