Uncle fess is right. H110/w296 same chit. 231/hp38 same chit. I was just happy to see the stuff and gladly paid the premium price, haz mat fees, shipping and all. With that purchase, and a few other good ones lately, I'm set on pistol powder until I retire (30 years away), or die...whatever comes first. So now it's on to hoarding rifle powders. I feel sorry for whoever has to go thru my reloading stash when I kick it. Hopefully it'll be all shot up by then.
If he paid hazmat and shipping I imagine online? Not sure of a dealer that charges hazmat fees in a store especially if they can get it with their next order. You already pay hazmat in their markup.
Powder valley online has hp38 8lb jugs and universal 4lb jugs. Both of which are awesome powders and hard to find!
just one of those would make me so happy, probably sold out in minutes , but maybe a good sign of things to come.
The HP38 lasted 4 hours! I think its a good sign for sure-usually it would be gone in a few minutes. Keep watching all the other usual online powder sources, Powder valley supplies midwayUSA and lots of others, so that means it will be in stock at those places VERY soon.
things will start showing up regularly ,and as we get close to election time there will be some sort of panic buying, to mess it all up
unclefess Ask and ye shall receive. Hp38 in stock at recobs target shop online. Don't wait.....buy NOW! Lots of unique, universal, and others too. The powder fairy cometh. Haha.
I have a breaktop Iver Johnson 38 s&w revolver from the 1890s, I want to figure out how I can do black powder loads for. For fun. The supplies I would need, etc. Ideally I could have a set up that would be able to do 9mm without much more $ invested for the different caliber.
Why black instead of smokeless? Black is corrosive, stinky, and requires cleaning as soon as it's done being shot. As far as equipment, lee is the best value for your dollar. Either a single stage to keep it ultra cheap, but I highly suggest a lee classic turret for flexibility, speed at caliber changes, and ability to put out rounds per hour.
I have Lee and love it . Sure you might not want to use it if your a stickler for ammo like every round perfect down to the .001 COL but for normal to even accurate ammo it's fine. And I would go straight for a turret press right away. I went the single stage route and loved it and quickly bought the turret. But I kept the single cause the classic 4 hole turret won't do my .30/06 rifle so I keep single for it and other rifle that 50 rounds is a lot of. Everything else goes on the turret and I keep the dies in the turret and just swap it all and the shell holder for easy caliber change. I recommend it. And if you can find a smokeless substitute I would...something like unique I think is often swapped out?
