One of my brothers does electrical. I'll have him do the running and hooking up. Problem is I have quite a few trees around. And funny thing about them buggers. They don't stop growing! Want to avoid limbs falling on line in future. So we have talked about going underground. Not sure yet.

Underground thru plastic conduit. No issues with moisture.

Yup, running thru sealed conduit keeps the moisture and crap out plus if you want to run more or heavier later, no problem.

We did a new greenhouse/retail nursey operation several years ago. Laid a total of 2 miles of it in sizes from 3/4 to 4 inch before they did the slab pours. This operation had electro everything (owners wanted a system with all the bells and whistles), and I believe we ended up wiring virtually every foot of it by the time we were done.

I ran power like that from the sled shed to my parents new garage up north.

Yes digging sucks, but not having to worry about branches knocking out power is a huge relief.

When I lived in Maine, I swear I had more power outages, than I've had in most of my life in Wisconsin, mostly due to over head lines getting severed by branches and ice.

Gasifier as rottiman said I would run it in conduit underground. Go heavier on the wire size. Much as I dislike underground, if you have a lot of trees it does make sense. When you pull the wire in try to keep from nicking the jacket.

You'll never regret laying cable underground. Just run a pig rope as you go and use plenty of lube when you make the pull. Make sure the glue is good and dry because it eats the insulation on the wire.

yesterday we went blackberry picking. Yes, rottiman, Campinspecter took the noisemaker - me - along while he was picking. 9 jars of jam and you have heard of lemon meringue pie? Well, I created a blackberry meringue pie. The reason there is no pics? I need major meringue making lessons. We get to taste it after lunch today.

Blackberry pie needed to sample two pieces but the verdict is that it is definitely worth doing again. Hopefully next time I make it, I will have an awesome meringue on top so I can take pictures.

This afternoon - salal jam. We picked this morning so it needs to process now.

If I come off of my house I am looking at 75-100 ft I guess. Haven't even measured it yet. Not planning on doing right away, but would like to this fall so I have lights out there before the real cold hits. Don't need a lot of power. Lights, outlets-probably only need them 110 in that garage. I have to decide if I should run a 220 line at same time that would allow me to run generator out in this garage and back feed to house to run wood boiler and well pump. Might be handy to have it out there in locked up garage with noise contained there. ? Some things to consider.
