Found what I think is a pin oak blown over from recent wind storm. The log has gotta be @ least 40" in diameter. Gotta get some pics. Still tryin to figure out how to CSS .
Giant Sequoia at the Boston Science Museum. They have rings dated back to Julius Caesar from what I remember. My kids loved this.
It looks like a slice from a Big Tree. Sequoia is a bit smaller and so is redwood. The old pictures you see with a lane of traffic going right through them are what they call a Big Tree.
If any of you guys have never seen the redwoods and sequoia trees live and in person, you all really should. I'm a big guy, but I'm humbled and awestruck seeing them in person. I've got to head back out to NorCal and Oregon again soon.
I enjoyed the redwoods more than any beach or anything I've seen in this country and canada. I do want to see BC and some of their huge coastal spruce and cedar.
