After today, the weather should return to more normal temps. Low to upper 20's day.....mid-teens night. Whew. Need to refill the gas container, since I've been doing so much plowing. Could use a new one for the saw....the cap has unappeared.
You may want to pick up a few gas cans and put them away out of the light. There is a law suit going on to find them liable for cans exploding. Seems to be related to ones that had just a little gas left and a lot of vapors. I always have mine vented.
Mine are kept in an open door shed, and I don't keep the cap on super tight. Some of the newer ones don't have the little capped vents.
It is already -10°F on the back porch and it is 9:25 at night. The boiler is running a lot! I was outside off and on today at work. Glad I did not have to be outside much. The only time I enjoy working outside in temperatures like this is if I am cutting wood! Then I can dress for it and am usually working up a sweat.
I have to admit, this is now usual first part of December. These temps are more what we see in the dead of winter.
The dogs did not want to stay outside long. Food? Or temperature? I'm thinking their fur isn't cutting it. Looks like -17. I'm burning nothing but Ash and the boiler was completely empty after I filled it to the max at 9:30 last night. So at 5:30 it was empty at 8 hours.
@ 6 a.m. it is -27.4. Today is the 7th day of this cool front. Just think, its only 4 days to the start of "WINTER"......................LOL
About 22 here now. Supposed to get downright tropical later in week with highs in the 50's and lows in the 40's for a couple days. Burning hedge and black locust (that's all I have) .
It was - 17.1 when I hit the sack, when I left the sack it was -18.6. The load of Beech & Sugar Maple along with the Pellet Stove did the trick, 77 in the basement, 69 in the livingroom & 68 in the bedroom. I'm not sure what it was with the windchill.
