I was splittin some big rounds yesterday so I had the 22 ton Husky in the vertical position. I normally don't like to grovel around on my knees to split wood but there after all some things that I figured out that I just can not pick up any more. Soooo, while rolling around big rounds and splitting them in the vertical position I sometimes get carried away and when I put the valve lever in the auto return I will wrestle the round into a new position to split it once again. It is then that I realize that my noggin is in just the right place that when the valve hits the detent, the handle pops back to the neutral position and knocks me right in the middle of my brainpan. I gots a hard head but it still makes a good old hollow sound when that happens. Do that mean my head is seasoned? I did figure out long ago that when a round was being tough in the splitter to turn sideways. catch to many in the nads and its all over. Have a good evening ya all.
And no video of this experience? .... Well on the serious side, glad everything turn out ok... I did a little splitting myself tonight for about 30 minutes.... Felt good...
I can just picture that happening. I haven't done that exact thing, but I'm sure if I split vertically enough, I'd do the same. I know I've done enough other stupid things.
Ya know the way some folks drive around with a tennis ball stretched over the trailer hitch ball? Maybe protect the hydro valve handle with somethin like that. Wouldn't want your noggin to dent the Huskee 22-ton operator lever, eh
Way to use your head there Butcher. Ya have to stop that lever from movin too far. Neither of those things has ever happened to me.
I don't know, try sticking the probes from a MM in your left ear lobe and see what kind of reading you get................................
