The pellet burners that I personally know are already fully stocked and one guy at work who has oil as an option ,is planning to buy a few bags a week to supplement the cheap dino juice .
HAHA No, this guy used to make pellets for the stove. He made all grass, grass/wood, and he even made us some coffee pellets that burned pretty well. Quite a story behind that, as Jay T & Schoondog will attest. It was fun & interesting.
SKEETER McCLUSKEY Just noticed that you joined recently.....welcome! Are you a pellet head, or cord wood hoarder?
I'll take HHO for $1.99 Alex! I don't have a crystal ball, but by all accounts, HHO prices will continue to drop. Pellet prices are higher than ever and from all that I have read, the price is only going to go UP (chuckle - yeah, we'll see how that works out). The fuel calculators generally agree at current prices, pellets *already* cost more than heating with oil, and by a good margin too! I guess the shoe is on the other foot now, can't wait to see what happens this winter. In principle, I do agree that the boxes no longer have the draw they once did. Prices are too close to the pellets houses these days. I guess they decided the time has come to make a small profit on pellet sales? Yeah, small. How much profit does a store make on the sale of a ton of pellets anyway? $10 $50? $100? Inquiring minds want to know.
Similar situation here, only the casual pellets burners I know (the non-pellet heads) haven't even thought about buying their pellets for the year yet, and they are so ecstatic over the price of heating oil, if prices remain where they are into September, October, etc. they will be skipping pellets altogether this year. They don't love the hunt like we do, and would rather let the oil man come fill them up with zero effort and cost less in the end. Crazy how that works.
both!!! but i just started my pellet sickness.this will be my first year burning pellets,im getting a new quadrafire.
That Shipyard Summer Ale is some tasty stuff. $7.99 a good price too! I might try the other two for that $$$? Where that at??
Agree, But this could really hurt the pellet industry. Even when pellets were selling like hot cakes we were loosing mills left and right. If they don't move their goods? Its a good bet many might not make it through the turmoil!! Could be big oil getting back at them?? Pellet mills aren't the full blame for high prices, Most have reported to keep them current with last seasons prices. Some of this is also on the dealers. And now the box stores seem to have entered the "lets make the best $$ possible" game. The boxes might all price themselves out of extra sales this season due to this new tactic!! Funny that the boxes in Maine don't seem to be doing this and they are right about the same price as last season. I bet they carry good sales compared to what we are seeing here in southern New England!! Just some more nuggets on how the pellet crumbles!! Will it crumble enough to reduce stove sales and will we see a surplus of used ones on Craig's List?? We'll see, But odds are like oil staying low. Pellet sales will not be as strong as most are predicting!! Someone might be letting air out of their balloon's!! Got to wonder how many brands(most likely smaller mills) will become extinct?? Don't think I'd be buying any Okies/Barefoot/Hamers/Energex stock anytime soon!!
If pellet manufactures shut down do to weak sales that's not positive or healthy for the industry. Like airline consolidation ain't cheaper... HHO won't stay this low for ever....Competition is good for the sole I know a great penny stock you can buy Easy Blaze but you better act fast this sale is only for one weekend and with only 10 shares available won't last long.... PS we require a deposit of 10% on any pendimg transaction of preferred shares or future warrants....
