Working on my last 2 stacks and I'll be set on my 3 year plan. Worked up quite a sweat in this August heat, but it's good to see the progress. I still have some wood on the ground from last year that I need to get up. 90% of all my wood is oak. Red, white, and post.
Nice work. Sure does feel good when you know all you need to do is maintain your stacks from here on.
Worked on my 3yr plan this weekend also. I might be on my 4 year plan after the rest of my rounds are split & stacked.
WTG! Once your there you only need to add what you removed to keep at that level. Thats the great part of the plan, the hard part is behind you. Great Stacks too there guys!
I think I've backslid myself right into the year and a half plan, while slowly regressing straight into the one year plan. I need to get to work. Gooder job getting into that 3 year club.
Looking good and it's nice to get it done but I'll take more of the weather we are having for quite awhile yet. I miss playing with the stove a little but I sure do like running around in a tee shirt.
There's a few weeks left of sandal weather yet. August is the hottest month for us. After that, I'll get to making firewood again.
That's a real achievement, GrJfer. The 3 year hoard isn't easy to do, but the payoff is worth the work. I like the third picture - looks like wood stacks that go forever.
Whoa Dave. I thought you'd been doing lots of cutting last winter. Sounds like the surgery set you back further than expected. Hope you can catch up as you certainly don't want to be where you were when you bought that place.
Well, I did quite a bit last fall/winter, but not nearly enough. Did a little more this spring. I've got just about enough Oak for '16, but not Maple, so I'm trying to decide if I should go after more Maple first then go after the Oak or vicey versy. Lots of stuff has sidetracked me this year. Very tempted to try buying my way back into the "plan", at least partially. My wife would agree, as she doesn't want me back in the hospital. My brother's got a guy who might get me some cheaper than everybody else around here, and it's partially dry.
I'll be headed back into the woods very shortly, and plan to continue until it snows. We'll see how that goes. See if I can catch up to GrJfer .
I'm not going to say a dammmmmm thing. Many days in summer it's just sandals, shorts, sunglasses, and a hat for me. At most, like now, it's a tank top for a shirt. Sun's out, guns out!
