44 lbs of tomatoes to can this morning. yesterday was a lazy day recuperating from our FHC vacation. After canning, we need to clean out the living room for painting the rest of the walls. Where did the week go already?

It sounds like to work harder on vacation than you do at your job!

Different kind of work. Job is very mentally taxing - being home and working physically is different and fun. An old quote goes something like this - A change is as good as a rest.

Most of the time I'd rather stay home and work around the house than go away on vacation, it relaxes me more.

Maybe. I can get a lot of scraps of timber from covered bridges from my BIL (he restores them). I'd like to resaw some and make some stuff out of them.

Now how the heck do think you will cut a tree down with that? I'd use an ax before I'd use that! :)

Wow, what a great material source.

That is right up my alley repurposing furniture and barnboard n' stuff.

I can get dump trailer loads of old timber and siding...more than anyone could handle.

I just went out and played with it. Runs like a sewing machine. This thing doesn't have much time on it for being made in 1948. I don't think the guide blocks have ever been adjusted judging by the condition of the allen screws...and they don't need any adjustment, the riser neck has exactly 8 indentations where the set screw engaged it, the tires have no wear but are obviously original, and all the bearings are perfect. Should last me for a while.

    That is sick.

Gotta buy materials here, unless I get a rare demo score.

Nice saw lukem. How high will the guide wheel for the blade go up? Or how tall of wood can it cut?
