3 call's is pushing it for me and it's usually someone trying to sell me something that I don't want or need. My bill is $22. a month.:) I'd rather talk face to face with someone.

You have money at tax time? I'm always broke after I fill out the forms and mail in the check. There is a reason the IRS hears from me about April 14.

If you have a land line, replace it with something like a Magic Jack plus, NetTalk Duo or one of the other VOIP services. You obviously have an internet provider that you are paying for so adding a voice over IP is a breeze. It becomes just one more thing connected to your router but costs around $20 to $30 per year and allows all calls to be local calls within the US. You can even keep your present phone number for a very small one time fee. On NetTalk, the VOIP service I use, it was free for a few months after they first started to offer it. I think these days it will set you back about 10 bucks one time to keep your old land line number. If you compare that to over $15 a month for more traditional service you will dump the old phone line in a heartbeat. These things are plug-and-play and you can buy the hardware at Walmart, Best Buy and other places for less than a few month's phone bills. The NetTalk hardware I have came with the first year's service included in the price of the hardware. IIRC it was a bit over $50.
Frankly, I am building a new home and really don't care if ATT or similar companies service that location because I will not be using them. I told ATT to take a walk over 2 years ago and have zero regrets.
