I have been using a Cub Cadet SLTX 1050 for a couple of years now and it is a really good mower. Not much available as attachments for it though.

Were you looking for something specific? I see a snowblower and a snow blade available for it.

That's about it. No hydraulic taps, buckets, etc.

We are still talking about riding mowers right? Y'all are getting into tractor territory!!! Just buy a tractor with a finish mower or MMM it will last longer and hold value better than a $4k riding mower with all those brand specific attachments.

Was more referring to the old man. Seems like much more than grass mowing you want a tractor.

Yup, that kind of stuff is well outside of that machine's capability.

I've had good luck with my 99 Scott's 2554 (built by Deere). I bought it at an auction in 2008 with 80 hours on it. It has 270 hours on it now. Only issues have been a belt and a front tire that blew a hole in the sidewall when I ran over a rock in the field behind the house.

I have 1984 Snapper rear engine rider at my place up north. Runs good and is bullet proof, but the turning radius sucks.

I got a Ranch King (MTD) with a 20 HP Briggs and 46" deck last week from a co worker who was going to junk it because it wouldn't stay running. Price was right (free). Quick carb cleaning, replaced a cracked fuel line and it fired right up. I'm going to take that one up north and leave the Snapper for leaf duty come fall.

I'm going to seriously consider a ZTR when the Scott's reaches the end of its life. That probably won't be for another 10 years or so.

They were basically a GT275 with cheaper cosmetics and different engines. The Kohler on yours is a good running engine and will far outlast the tractor if taken care of.

If you are serious about making an investment that will last 25+ years, buy a new SCAG Turf Tiger or Tiger Cat. The folks at Scag have been making some of the best zero turns for a looong time, right here in the USA

I'm not aware of any major brands that are manufacturing their equipment outside of the USA.

Some of the lousiest, cheapest, throwaway garbage lawn equipment is manufactured right here in the U.S.

I have a Bradley commercial walk-behind that is actually a Chinese copy of an Exmark Metro.

True enough but they were running over 8 grand a few years ago when I demo one.:bug:

Hard to justify that for homeowner to know a lawn!

I recently bought a Husvarna R 120S articulating mower, with 42" cut for about $2K. It is not quite a Zero-turn, but handles great and doesn't tear up the yard like ZTR mowers tend to. It has a 19.5 HP engine that fires right up, and cuts an acre of grass in about 1.5 hours.

Is that one of those articulated things I just saw in the last few weeks in an add.

Scag's fit the definition of "bulletproof." Awesome mowers.
