It's been awhile since I did any splitting and stacking, probably because of the heat. I rolled the splitter out after work today and split a bunch of rounds, white oak, Black Locust, and Beech.

If yer gonna take the time to haul out the splitter, ya may as well split a good bunch, which you did. Good job.
I bet the water cooled ya off after that session, eh?

I split a little bit today as well. It was bad firewood but at least it looks good. Gave some to a friend who does some wood turning. Wood is box elder.

That surely is beautiful grain in the box elder Erik. I know it is given a bad rap by most but it is not all that bad for firewood. Good for fall or spring burning for sure.

Hey, if it cut split and dried I would burn it close in BTUs to white birch and bogydave, burns that and he is in Alaska!

Oh man...I love that box elder. I'm sure I've had that through the stove. Almost too pretty to burn. As long as it's dry, it'll keep you toasty.

Ohhhh yeah it did, the ocean is in the low 70's generally at this time of the year. There was some big breaking waves that were picking people up and slamming them into the sand.. Good entertainment!!
