Looks like outdoor activities are on hold today, spitting rain on and off right now and the T-boomers are due shortly. Hot and humid stuff coming in for another visit this week.
Countdown to VT backpacking trip, 13 days....

being lazy this morning. Just sitting here surfing FHC. Pouring rain yesterday which everything needed but it looks like it is going to clear up today. Maybe ? I will finish weeding the garden today - in a little while after things dry out a bit.

Edit: three weeks of holidays left!!!

I did a small sugar maple scrounge. Lots of stub ends on it from cut off branches. I don't know why I take the difficult stuff home.

I have some bar and chain issues to square out. I don't think I am getting a good sharpen on the chain. I think my bar groove is getting worn.

Lazy day of mostly hanging out with my bride, talking and laughing. Hot and muggy outside so I used that as an extra excuse to stay inside for most the day. I did drop off a couple limbs of mulberry to the processing yard, that I came across Thursday.

I also started on putting in a handrail along the back deck steps so my mother can use them more safely when she visits. Only one of my dogs wanted to come out with me, and all she did was crawl under the deck for shade. :)

Hot here too. Took a ride on the Wing and stopped to visit a old friend of mine who lost his wife about a month and a half ago. We had a great visit for a couple of hours. He seemed glad to be able to talk it out with someone, as he had spent the last 17 years taking care of her as she sunk deeper and deeper into the world of Alzheimers. He has a fairly strong constitution so I am hoping and believing that he will perk up in the future. Be thankful for what you have Lads, it can always be worse................

    Sounds like time well spent.

True words...it's too easy to focus of what we don't have.

I think I found a buddy.... This little guy (or girl). Followed me yesterday while I was tilling across the street. And today he's followed me while mowing.... Darniest thing, I've seen them swoop in and get bugs. But this guy actually hopped parallel and next to me....

Got the 50 hr service all done on the tractor, tilled part of the garden, moved the chicken pen and went and got gas today. Played with the kids some and started fixing up an old wheel hoe I got from my neighbor. Good day.

Random thought for today: If you only put the minimum amount of effort into something you can not expect anything good to come from it.

Sounds like a good day Rotti. Having friends like you dropping in and spending a little time with him should help a lot with that perkin' up idea...
