Thought I would share a pic from last Sunday at of our smaller and normally calm lake 2 miles up the road.

I was trying to get some of the lawn cut before the T storms hit. Faint thunder and dark clouds when I started but when the thunder was loud enough to overcome the lawnmower engine and ear plugs it was time to get the mower back in the shed-hauled azz and finished the section of yard quick as possible.

When done I was standing in the front stairs listening to the non stop rumble in the distance for over 5 minutes while pickup truck after truck was coming away from the lake with their boats in tow. One every minute or so.

I had to see what was up at the lake, so jumped in my truck and found this at the boat launch.

To get perspective, here is an older pic of another storm in the same area

Thats some white caps right there!! Always fun trying to load in the wind. Usually causes some boat lunch follies vid's! :wacky:

I have premier'd in a few back in the day. Float on trailers are for the birds. Love my drive on. Not fool proof, But far easier for the fickle!

When Mother Nature decides to churn things up, she's pretty much running the show it seems. Getting a boat out of the water fast before hand, with waves thrashing it all over... not fun and potentially expensive too. Always good when you're lucky enough to have lots of help.

    True Dat !!

This looked the the last one trying to get out. Just to the right of the pic is a dam and when I turned the corner coming to the lake, it looked like that boat was against the dam. Luckily he got it under control quick.

Many years ago as a mid teen, we were on the ocean near Boston when a storm came up quick. The boat launch was crazy with boaters getting off the water before it really churned up. As the boat owner drove up the ramp, he hit a bump and the trailer was not completely secured to the hitch ball. The trailer sent back down to the water and the boat back into the water.

In all the craziness at the busy launch, guess who didnt latch the trailer? :emb: Boy did I get a tongue lashing then but we laugh about it now as nothing bad happened.

Thanks guys and gals, Wildwest is the best at bdays!!! I did get the bike out a wifey and I rode around Lake Waramaug in Jays home state of Conn. Ever fish that one Jay? Also got a chance to have a nice dinner with the family and managed to get a bottle and half of wine in.:smoke::wacky:

Spent a little time looking at new cars ( b4 the wine ), wifeys Nissan Rogue may get replaced soon, beginning the process. Little hot tub time also.

Very relaxing, fun day. May get to go to TSC and scope out the Pro pellets today in the rain while checking out some cars.

    Doggy

Well... at least with all the activity around the boat ramp, you had a big audience for the show...:D I seem to always have a crowd around when I hang my bare face out too... :emb:

No, I don't think I have. We'll have to go check it out one of these days. Always looking for new bass waters.

Might have to wait until we buy our own yaks though. ;)
