I would love to drive one of those for a living. Got to pull B doubles once and they are super stable even in the winter compared to the standard A doubles that I pull. A combo like that is probably even better. Wonder what kind of coin you could make up there driving one or as an owner operator.. The gears are turning..lol..

I watched a driver out with a saw once, cutting off the end of a log that was sticking out a little too far. The 8 wheeler wouldn't make it between two trees on a curve. That's truckin'

Spent a lot of time hauling dirt in trains and short doubles. They all suck in the snow. Truck like that isn't as bad, as you get more weight on the drives with the other axles up, but the pucker factor is still pretty high running empty.

My guess is that it's a pretty competitive market. Jobs of any kind are few and far between there.

That would be my guess too but it seems companies up there have trouble getting drivers period and especially ones cleared for Canada with hazmat - can't have a dui. Pucker factor with any of those truck/trailer or B sets is way less than my current pucker on bad roads loaded or empty..lol.. Been at my current job for 12 years but with the traffic I run in daily and other factors it would be an easy place to give up so long as the money was decent elsewhere. 20150305_152934.jpg

I saw jb hunt pulling super trains in Marquette a few years ago :jaw: Driving jobs are easy to find. Good driving jobs, not so easy. You might be able to make a living, but I doubt you'd see the benefits you have now, if any.

Next time you're in the neighborhood, stop where the Au Train River dumps into Superior, west of Munising on 28. The beach is amazing, the river runs clear and pretty warm. The only place I've been able to swim in the big lake, at least as an adult.
