I got out of the Navy in April 1974 and remember thinking if I could make 10 grand a year I'd be living the good life.

The inflation rate caught my eye as well. Ridiculous.

I came home form the military in '75 Started work at the VA and got $6,600 a year plus my GI bill. Worked a 40 Hr. week and went to school full time, plus has a home wife and two daughters. If I got 6hr.s rest I was lucky. It was all worth it once I got my degree and commission.

We got hit. Not too much rain, but a lot of thunder and lightning. Hope Giz settles down. My cats seem ok. They get more upset than the dogs.

I had a few of those this weekend. They make a grapefruit shandy that's pretty good too, but it takes a few swigs to get used to the taste, especially if you started out with something else.

I'm having a Founders Brewing Company porter now. Good stuff.

    Somebody had to.

Back on topic had a ground hog show up a bit ago and saw it was still in the area this past weekend so the trap is baited again and the boomers are at their stations. Hey Larry do your current dogs hunt? I might have need of them or the neighbors' horse exercisers (They have two dogs that love to agitate the horses, they try to herd them and the horses have other ideas, it can get interesting at times.)

My earlier ground hog made the mistake of eating one too many Brussels sprout seedlings and achieved recycle pile status way back awhile ago, sorry smoke no pictures nobody seemed to like the dirt nap photos I posted last year for you so I didn't ask to use the bosses' camera this time.

They would if I let them, but I don't. I don't even like them going off the lawn. In the woods, their are ticks. I don't want them out of my sight for fear of sick animals or getting bad chasing habits. We have too may coyotes here. My poor pets are left to chase squirrels and birds. One of them digs for chipmunks. Your neighbor could put an electrical training collar on their dogs and change that behavior with the horses. I can't understand how they allow that. The horses will grow to hate the dogs and that could come back in behaviors the owners don't want. They need to do better at protecting the horses from the taunting of the dogs, and the dogs need to learn their place.
Hope you have good luck getting rid of the ground hog. Horrid pests, as bad as having rats.

I really likeBrussel Sprouts. Roasted in the oven with butter, garlic, salt and pepper. They have a lot of flavor and are good for you.
