Grabbed this earlier tonight, looks like a good one.Decent priceI thought for a scarce saw,Seller dropped it from $400 2 weeks ago. I don't want the bow,so I'll be listing it here pretty soon after it arrives later next week.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/POULAN-4200...602?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aae09f24a Now eventually I want the 5200 (preferably with full wrap handle) but that will be a while longer....
never cut wood with a bow, seems like it would be something to get used to for sure. heard of guys who swear by them for firewood cutting. Would that use a common # of DL's on for the chain or not so much?
I probably have a dozen bow saws here, the key is to cut with the lower quadrant of the front of the bow. The foot on the bow needs to be firmly against the log when you start the cut. There is a video of me running my Poulan 5200 bucking some ash for Dexter Day in his GTG thread.
Here it is Gary, I'll post the link. http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/threads/bow-bar-videos.12583/
Thanks again for cutting that wood up!! You are always a huge help at a GTG. Whether it is cutting, splitting, etc!! You're a good man Gary!
Arrived this afternoon..... 4.2 cubic inch/69cc & 16.5lbs of old school muscle, this isn't the same homeowner toy Poulan you see at Walmart,Home Depot & other places today....Running a little rich, but not too far from where it needs to be. Soon I'll put a 32" bar/full chisel chain on it & see what it can really do. Sold from 1975 to 1980.
