Man that sucks. Ours has filled up over the top of the outlet baffle (just looked yesterday), but not to the top of the tank.......yet. I think.......meaning, hope, the field is still taking liquid. We had 2 of the grandkids up for a week, and didn't have problems. It was pumped June 5th.
Meant to add that - A log peavey Firewood hoarding tools on a chitter truck He had a longer handled one than mine, dug down the side a bit and knocked the bank back couple inches - flipped it up, I held the handle on the deck while he pushed it the rest of the way over with his foot
we went too many years without a pump and had a few feet of sludge in the past. One company actually used a pressure washer to loosen it and pump it out after initial pumping. But we have not had sludge in the leech field.
I don't know what's in my leach field or if I even have one? He said the ground around the tank is taking water, and I'd be Ok unless it stops - could be another 35yrs? I'm not getting "reported" as having problems, because he's going to do some squirrel hunting come fall up here
Or you could be on a time bomb. You happened to discover it before your toilets stopped flushing. Could be a nightmare in waiting. Would be darn inconvenient if it fails during the winter.
Frost line here is max 1", in the coldest of spells. I'm going to probe around some more and try find the d-box next week
Happened to us twice 900 year flood plus 40 years of dirt (insulation) erosion, our leech field was on a very steep cliff. Our field froze, same outcome. Not fun.
Just gotta get the other lid dug up and will be good to go for next Friday. Baffle is fine but there is a toothpaste cap in the tank! Will get some more fun pics next week.
Might have to deal with the other baffle? But everything looks good as poop go's. Fancy double seater is gonna happen on top after the big suck next week.
I've got my tank's access dug out. Had a hired man her last week doing some digging so I had that done at the same time. I'm calling the ca ca suckers soon. no problems, just preventive maintenance.
I did some probing around through the deck boards with a piece of 1/4" ss tubing. It's too flexible to pin point anything - thought I had a solid hit on a d-box but just another large chunk of shale. Doing much digging past 930 is crazy man work - heat indices over 100F. I got a truckload of sand Saturday morning and backfilled the lid(made a good sketch for future reference) just about cooked myself driving Ole Blue in the 90F heat
