I can go to bed now instead of staying awake in case I needed to start switching Gen power to deep freezer etc.

Finally putting the finishing touches on the large job I've been on for 2 weeks thanks to the rain. If I had to spend one more day there, I would've just put up a tent.
I'll be happy to look at some new scenery next week.

We spent a few days in the White Mtns of NH. It is a short drive for us. We did one hike to an AMC hut at Lonesome Lake. I read it was a beginner level hike for some. It seemed to be an intermediate level. It climbed 900 feet in elevation in about a mile distance. We had an early start before the crowds began and made it in 1 1/2 hours with a few breaks along the way.

The trail was up to the ridge just south of this granite face upon entering the notch. My wife took these pics. NH just passed hands free law while driving.

One of the many rocky areas along the trail.

View of Lonesome Lake. It is a clear glacial lake or more like a large pond. We took a break in the hut and listened to the other hikers that were hiking large sections of the App trail. 20150716_093127.jpg

This enormous birch is growing over a boulder and it is loaded with burls. There were a few more burls further up.

A view of the Rangers station at the trailhead looking across the notch. It was perfect weather, low 50's at night, low 70's during the day. Northerly breeze and dry. NH is a great state to visit, great highways and beautiful scenery up in the mountains.

Cool! We'll get to try them out together. Your first fire prob. Well before mine. (Unless I decide I can't wait until fall to season it!) :)

We gave away our swamp cooler when we moved. I doubt the portable electric one will ever get used again.

Finally fixed a server issue at work today, each time I find a way to broaden my skill set I find it quite rewarding... conquered that thing that 6+IT/firewall/server specialist trying to remote in couldn't figure out:thumbs:

Picked the garden when I got home probably make some more rotel with these, have some spare ribs and jalapenos on the grill, the buddies are telling me "Dad the couch is cool, can we stay here?"

So if we are now including dialect with our posts, do I have to sprinkle "eh!" all through what I say? eh!

    Lovely pics of your trip.

BC has quite a famous Lonesome Lake

Ralph Edwards and his daughter were largely the reason that Trumpeter Swans survived.

dialect jokes between Stinny and myself are self inflicted:D
being I now have a bit of southern draw after living down here for 15yrs, when I speak to someone up north I sound like a southerner, when I'm local - I'm still not from 'round here;)
