My best was on my Fuelly App is 48.8. However; before I started using it, I had one tank at 51mpg. I need to replace my summer tires, but it's not in the budget. Still ridding on my winter tires.

This was pretty cheap, and always a thrill. Just a few minutes ago.

If you can stick to the budget, there should be light at the end of the tunnel. When we had two in college and one in private school, we were at wits end. I worked about 16 hours over time a week and kept a weekend job. Wife worked nights. That is all gone now. It was a long tough road, but it was worth it.

    is yours the Tip-tronic?
put it in manual shift and short shift it. it will improve the mileage a good bit by keeping the rpm's down.
    (under 2000 rpm)
a couple extra pounds of air in the tires will help too
and clean all the unneeded junk out of the car .

Nope. But my CEL comes on whether it feels like, and it goes off just the same. Apparently the left secondary o2 sensor gets ornery. It does nothing performance or mpg wise, just if it's on you won't pass emissions. I'm all good, passed a while back and I'll be good for 2 years from September.

    Germans. Overcomplicated and over engineered.

Even newer ones? Here in Wisconsin, it has to be pre 2011 if it's a diesel, otherwise it to needs emissions testing bi yearly.

    Mine's a 4.2 40valve v8 gas tiptronic awd sleeper wagon.

I'm running a BMW 335d with the 3.0 L I6 twin-turbo diesel. It doesn't get the mileage that my wife's VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI does, but, then again I get a lot more "thrills" (not "cheap") from mine.

I'd like to see that, but I don't think the politics/tax-structure in the US will allow it.
