In reality, I was thrilled when I saw the speed limits in Wyoming and South Dakota were 80 MPH interstate! Made good time!

Our interstate freeways just got raised to 70 mph from 65 mph a few days ago. I've not even tried them out yet. I will Thursday.

I'm on holidays this week and after working 8 weeks almost straight and averaging about 4-6 hours of sleep a night, I went to bed at 8 last night and didn't get up till near 8 this morning. :dex::banana::dancer::rootintootin:

Their coffee is really good. I get one when I can. I always have them put a bit of ice in it so I don't burn my lips. My wife has found a place to buy the McDonalds' brand coffee to brew at home.

With our budget extremely tight right now, I am walking on eggshells whenever I buy something. One thing that I enjoy each day is an ice coffee, and I am very particular about it. I don't want burnt ice coffee, or the coffee that sat around for 5 hours before they opted to mix it into the ice coffee jug. Ugh. My ice coffee runs me $3-4 per day. It hurts when you look at the total for one week at $21-28.

In the past, my wife and I have played around with making our own at home. It's never come out right. Recently my cousin's wife gave us her recipe. Well hot dang it works. The wife makes a jug every couple of days that we share. While not completely free, it's dang near close to it.

The second thing that goes along with the tight budget is paying for gas. Man do I miss the $1.50/gallon at the pump diesel. Yeah try $2.999 if I get it in town or as much as $3.499/gallon elsewhere. Man does it burn me that it's so expensive. Anyhow, I drive a VW Jetta TDI. While I hate filling up my car only to pay for it, I do enjoy entering in my numbers into my Gas Tracker App. Last tank for me was 46mpg. Boy do I ever enjoy that. Knowing that I am paying around .08/mile is not too bad. Considering many gas jobs are something like .15/mile.

With a budget, you must stay strong, and cut whenever you can. Little rewards can turn into big gains down the road.

My Audi's gauge panel never gets that high for mpg. It's usually a hair under 20mpg.

Use some of that saved $ to put some washer fluid in the veedub. ;)

According to simple math with my odometer and gas reciepts I average 8 mpg on the blazer. 30 gallon gas tank. LOVE that truck.

8? Ouch, I only use my truck when I have something to haul, usually it's wood, but lately I've been taking it to work to get steel for scrap price along with shipping 2x3s they use to separate steel on the trucks, they work so good for stacking wood on.

Otherwise I use my Pontiac g5 for everything else, 34+mpg is nice. Although I hate filling it up all the time a 10 gallon tank doesn't last long, I wish it were 20 a little more hurt at the pump but I don't have to stop every week at least once!

Fortunately the Blaze is our spare truck now :) It got 17 mpg when we got it in 1993, 3.2 engine aluminum(or something light) drive train. Same drive train 20 years later but 350 with dual exhaust no emissions. Sounds as good as the 72 mustang we had!
