I can relate on the back issues. Herniated the L5-S1 disk pulling my snowmobile off the trailer, had a Micro-D in 2011. Worlds better now and still can do just about anything that I did before. I also have spondylolisthesis on the same level which causes me issues too, at some point that level will probably be fused but I'm trying to avoid that as long as possible(38 now). I do avoid lifting the heavy rounds anymore though. A lot of rolling and dolly use to move the big stuff. Glad you're here to talk about the heart stuff, scary stuff!
That is a sweet deal. it is $200 a cord around here for one year stuff sold as dry wood. I would call your deal a smart deal.
You are on your own with that one...I get in enough of my own trouble. No sense in drinkin slush though...just sayin.
I buy all my wood. I ain't got time for scrounging, bucking, hauling, splitting, and stacking 15 cord of wood a year. Down the road, I'll probably buy uncut logs. But I'm several years away from doing that. I need 40 cord of wood split and stacked before I start massing with that.
I thought for sure one of you guys would give some grief about this? Something along the lines of that $150 out of your pocket is 1/4 of: Chainsaw Husqvarna 576XP 30"bar - $600 Nice saw has had minimal use purchased new and is in very good condition.Have owners manual, and extra chain. Both chains are like new.Bar alone was almost a $100. $600 pretty firm, but money talks.
Great score! The last couple years I've been contiplating just buying my 3 cords and for going the scrounging and all the pains that go with it. I can get Oak at $150 per cord and sometimes cheaper. I did buy 1 cord for $100 this year but also cut another 3 at the city recycle area. I'm a good 3+ years ahead so I can sit back and wait for a good deal to show up.
The biggest thing that stops me from buying is I've become pretty particular on how I like my wood split over the years. I don't know how well I'd deal with the way someone else splits their wood. I don't like the stuff I split back in 2009-2010 that I'm burning now so I guess I'd get used to it if the price was right.
Time to get a good Carhartt coat. Those cans fit nicely into one of the coat pockets and keeps it from freezing.
