Well Jay I had a break down today too. Took the scoot to work and noticed she was sitting a little low in the back when I was parking a car in the lot. Closer inspection showed a lack of pneumatics in the rear tire, caused by a big old nail. Had to run home and grab the trailer and price a new tire. Won't be ready until Tuesday. Was looking forward to a ride with the boys on Sunday, may take my buds bike, we'll see.

Can't put a like on that, bad luck indeed. Just the way things go no matter how good you have been.

Murhpy's better be able to swim! :D Tossed his behind in the lake before we left!!

After a brew or 2. My son and I searched the web for some prints/diagrams. Found what we were looking for. Grabbed the meter and got too it. We found no power to the ignition switch. Traced it all the way back to the motor connection. It was a duh moment as soon as I touched the harness connector that was at fault. Power came on and all the gauges lite up. Pull the positive connector on the battery(safety first) and then looked at the connector. One of the wires had almost pulled out of the connector. Pretty easy fix once found. A bit of a PITA to get the wire back in the connector, But its all set and ready to hit the water.

I think we'll have to venture out for a test to be sure its good today! Had yard chores to do, But making these repairs is way more important!! ;)

Schoondog, Hope ya get it back on the road soon. No fun when the toys be broken. Thats almost like running outta beer!

I was telling the boy, How lucky we were. If we didn't find it, It would have been lots a $$$$ to send it to the shop.

Not counting the beer! The only cost was a band aide and a few wire ties. ;)

Great way to teach your son about fixing things yourself using manuals and diagrams. Some have no clue and that means $$.

I am sure he already realizes how lucky you were that the pull rope worked when the shore or dock was not next to the boat. :)

Tried to resolve a small issue on my g/f 2011 Chevy Malibu. Tire pressure sensor message on the dash, so I used the internet for a fix and found that a simple TPMS relearn procedure usually takes care of this. Unfortunately the left/rear would not relearn and is most likely bad-breaking down a tire to replace the stem is not something that almost none of us has the equipment for at home, but I now know that if a shop tries to charge big bucks to "relearn" the sensors after a tire change, I know that they are full of chit.

You ALWAYS have to make a test run after diagnosing & repairing electrical work on a boat. :seasoned:

I've been on it since May or so of 2008 IIRC (not always a sure thing).

Went to a huge family gathering today. Had a wonderful day. All I had to do was put my chunky butt in a chair and tell stories and reminisce. Was hot, but their was shade, the food was way too much., Lots of beverages, no hard stuff. The young ones pitched in.
The little ones seemed to find a way to stay cool. They attempted to keep everyone else cool with squirt guns. Fun time had by all.
