She finally arrived home this week. I bought her off of Craigslist this spring. First time saw off of the list. Well I forgot my Torx head bit to check the piston. Tough lesson learned there. Was given a a big fish story as I soon found out. But she was cosmetically in great condition for her age. So I sent down to Tennessee where Dr. Mike took good care of her while she under went surgery. The piston was shot, the cylinder was in good condition along with other minor replaceable parts and a little up tick in here heart. She's back to running. I'm going to fuel her back up and she what she sounds like and runs like. I'll try to get a video later on.

Nice looking 10mm! Did Mike grind on the cylinder? Or is it still stock?

Looks like a very nice older saw... probably a 10mm by the looks of it. Does it have the KS jug on it?

Thank you. :D.... Yea, I debated... Back and forth for a bit :hair:. I Figured while he had it already there, to save on future freight. I might as well get her taken care of while she was already there. :loco:

I just fired her up a bit a go. She sounds good. :D

Mike, never mentioned, but I never asked either. I hear that term tossed around. What's special about the KS? Yes it's a 10mm 044

Seems like the red master control 044's have a KS. KS supposedly has better stock timing numbers. I will also say the casting in the ports looks just that little bit cleaner and smoother than a Mahle angled fin jug I have seen, which is what was put in later 10mm saws and some early 12mm 044's.

Pull the cover off, I would be interested to know it the red master control=KS holds up in your case.

It runs good. I slapped a 28" on it and buried almost the whole bar and it chugged right along. I didn't take the 46 with me since I borrowed a part for using on it to get it home quicker. I remember why I like the 044/440 over the 460 for the weight in the woods.

You never know if a saw has the original cylinder... I had an angled fin Mahle jug on a 12mm and it was a real strong runner.

True, My 12mm came with an angled fin Mahle as well. Too bad I couldn't salvage it.
