Currently unthawing water pipe between sink and dishwasher. Likes to freeze up anytime it goes below 10°. Hair dryer has more than one purpose. I'm not cutting wood. I decided to relax today. Recoup from two Christmas parties last night. Fun, but feeling a little tired and dehydrated today. :emb:

Can't go wrong with bacon. I am putting some ROMS on a disk for my son's Xmas present. He's getting my old DS so I thought I'd put some Pokemon games on it.

Wow. That guy has some real money. I have a friend who does custom hardwood floors and staircases and have worked with him off and on over the years. Seen some really nice homes built and/or remodeled. A lot of them are second or third homes for the people.

    Nice work.

The story it's that he it's the founder of a company in California that owns and operates a fleet of helicopters used to fight wildfires out west. He sure has paraded a lot of dynamite looking women through his new mansion. Only one was his wife. Money talks I guess.

Personally, I feel that one woman is enough for any one man to handle. I couldn't imagine trying to juggle multiples of those beautiful, yet oh so confusing creatures.

Thanks for the compliment too. That's a ton of framing for four guys. We have over 100 years of combined experience. We take a lot of pride in our work and are very respected in our trade. If we make a mistake (it happens), we fix it right, at our expense of necessary. No band aids for us.

The hardest part with custom homes it's accepting the change orders with a smile. Comes with the territory. Sometimes it's really difficult to take a saw-zall (carpenters scalpel) to our framing that was done right. Those changes pay hourly. Just gotta find a way to take pride in changing something and leaving no evidence.

Well today is chain day :) Time to sharpen my mountain of chains in the garage. The new Timber Tuff is getting some serious abuse today I have something like 23 chains. Most of them are the stupid anti skip chains I haven't touched in 5 years or more. They have been in a box under the workbench long forgotten but I will try to revive them today. The remaining 8 ( Pro Forestry Chains ) are the ones I carry with me all the time. If nothing else the crap chains will give some much needed practice. The rest are from saws I don't own anymore so they will probably get put up on the forum for sale. ;)

Thanks buddy. Our crew works together pretty darn good most of the time. We all have slightly different strengths that compliment each other nicely. One thing(of many I'm certain:p) they like about me is that I crave the dangerous jobs. Walking a 5-1/2" wall 40' up with no harness....no problem.

Your a good guy pyro we will have to cut together some day brother!
I used to work at a magnesium plant and walked the rafters 4 stories up ( with a harness ) as well as climbed in the conveyors up 3.5 stories ( no harness.) That was a lot of fun no catwalks or hand rails just 6" wide beams. Man I miss that! These days my excitement is felling a tree or playing with a chainsaw. Fun but not as fun.....

I use to work industrial construction. Many years ago a foreman sent some guys up on the steel one day in the morning. I don't know exactly what happened, but I heard it was slippery and they refused to go up until the sun had dried the moisture some. So he decided to show them that it could be done and went up himself. He fell, and hit several times on the way down. He was dead. The entire job sit was shut down. Over 200o workers went home and they took up a collection for him over the next couple of days to try to help the wife and kids out. :( One can never be too careful guys. Make sure you go home to your families, everyday.

The rule when up high is always maintain 3 points of contact. Doesn't matter if it's a hand, foot and knee, or both feet and a shoulder, etc. It just feels like nothing can sneak up on you that way. Don't know why, but when you get to two points it's a little scarier. That happens too, always aware of possible outside influences on my safety.

A guy was working on a roof around the Pulaski area very recently. He was 23 years old I think. The wind blew him off. He is dead now too. You never think it is going to happen to you. Obviously, they should not have been on the roof that day. The wind had been up and down. I don't know all the circumstances. Safety, safety, safety.
