I ask the wife this morning, would you like to go out in the boat or get the base ready for the flag pole.

We have a flag on the front porch but my wife wanted a flag pole in the back, it will go up tomorrow afternoon.

This reminded me that I have to get a proper flag pole for our flag. Unwinding it every time we go out the door gets real old fast.

Do you have a link for your 20' pole Zap? I'd like to use our well head as a base (hide it) under a flag pole. Is it a pretty sturdy pole?

We bought ours from a local hardware store, I think wally world has them.

This is the one we bought, seem like it's built ok. I'm buying a 10 foot section of 1.25 inch PVC that will fit in the sleeve and the pole for more stability.

We'll have it up tomorrow afternoon.

Your flag pole and flag looks good in your yard.

So yesterday we went down island to the big towns and stopped at Canadian Tire. Here is our new flag pole and flag. I hope it is sturdy enough for the winds we get here.

Looks good Woodwidow. Our solar light for the top of the flag pole came in today so I'll pick it up this week, we'll put it in the full sun for a day so it charges good before we put it up, if it works good will get a picture at night and if it doesn't work that great, we'll still get a picture.

Glad you're doing it the proper way:thumbs:
American flags that stay up 24/7 should be lit after dusk.
I don't know about all these Canadian flags though - invaders I tell yah:rofl:

yeah, our flag should be lit at night but we have a big street light right opposite our driveway. So it isn't really dark.

We have been looking for a really nice Canadian flag but can't find anything online. Heavier material and the tight sewing makes them last longer. My wife is Canadian, and we fly both countries flags at our home.

Thanks Stinny, they also have provincial flags too. I better not show her, might a bit too much.

Well Seasoned , we had put the solar light on top of the flag pole but decided to take it down so we could charge it in the full sun for two days, I'll get a picture tonight.

Just with the batteries it would last all night so we're thinking it will be much brighter tonight.

That will be nice! I was looking at poles at Lowe's today while shopping for some cable for a dog run. Not bad at $ 129

This is the best I could do with the pictures, the light comes out brighter then it actually is. It still is brighter than the first time we put it up.

The second picture is what it really looks like
