checking your link, it maybe dated 1-1928?, i don't think it's 1918, and i guess it could be 1938?, i sent a pm to fuzz, he's checking on it for me.......
i got my 15.00 dollar duel fuel up and run'n with help from one of my parts units i picked up today, seams to be working quite well..............
turns out, the oldie i found yesterday is a model L227 dated January 1928, also known as the "coleman quicklite", here's a pic i found of another one.............
Have that one down cellar in good condition including original box.. Does need a globe though.. Is it worth anything?
only what someone is willing to pay, most i've seen have bad decals, so with nice decals they're worth more, even more if the remaining condition is nice.........
Nice scores.. I have been following this for awhile and I am sad to say I only have a dual fuel. It's probably 15 yrs old (given to me by my father). But still looks and works well (just used it Sat night).
a few more in the stable, a very nice Canadian model 200, a "Christmas tree" 200a with reflector, one Coleman table lamp, and one Akron table lamp..............
i've been running unleaded gas in my plain old green ho hum 220's and 228's with no issues, but they do say that the generators wont last as long using unleaded fuel, same thing with the duel fuels...
Yeah, I've done that too, I never had any problems with the regular gas. I didn't know that about the generators. Thanks! You have a very nice collection of Coleman stuff.
thanks, a good portion of them came from fuzz's collection, he got a nice saw in return some came from the bay, and a few that were found locally...........
finally got my L227 up and work'n that i found over the 4th of July weekend, burn'n great, then i noticed it leaking fuel from the bottom of the fount, yep, a couple pin holes, time to seal the fount, otherwise it should be a good worker.............
two more followed me home today, a 1953 200a in nice shape, and a 1967 mil-spec also nice...........it took very little to have the 200a up and burn'n, haven't tried the mil-spec yet...........
got my "free-be" model "F" up and burn'n, this one took a little bit to get going again, old fuel is a pain to get out these Coleman's system, but with persistence it came to life, not bad for free............
