What's everyone up to for the Fourth of July weekend? It is my favorite holiday and I will be spending it with my family. We are gonna enjoy some burgers and dogs and then watch the fireworks. We' ve got a good spot, where they go off straight above us. Actually had an ember from one land on my leg last year! (Not recommended, btw).

We have a great spot too, F & B. Although we're not right under them- bout 3 blocks up from the launching zone.

That's a fantastic plan you've got right there! Happy Birthday to yer wife's grandmother; make sure you tell her someone in Va is thinking of her, Locust Post :D! I'm assuming FHC folks from other states will chime in, too.

Cutting some wood tomorrow and Saturday if it doesn't rain. Having grandma over for a BBQ with the family (doing ribs over the fire) and then taking the family out on Saturday night to see fireworks.

Everyone enjoy the holiday and especially your family this weekend.

Strawberry shortcake for 800! I'm in charge of the strawberry shortcake booth at our towns lobster feed on the town ball field after the parade tomorrow. It is a fundraiser for my kids school trip. I'm headed to cut berries here in a little bit. Will be whipping cream tomorrow at 6am.

Not far from me. I don't go to the displays. I like some of bursts but the booms and the burst remind me of tracers and rockets, bad memories. We normally sit home and watch fireworks on TV. Better for me that way, and no bugs!
    Hope you enjoy the display.

Thanks Larry. I don't blame you a bit. It'll be noisy I'm sure. I don't know where we'll be exactly yet, or how far down the lake the town launches from. We're all leaving our dogs at home for this one... they don't like the booms much either.

You and Cindy have a great 4th with the family.

Thanks, We will have one of sons and family here. He wants to work, and we will have a BBQ. I understand about the dogs. To my surprise, my cats don't like them either. When the Gardiner display when off, the cats were running all over the place. Can't hold or calm an excited cat. The dogs lay right at our feet. Enjoy. Take some pics if you can.

We had our local fireworks display tonight. Absolutely gorgeous at 70 degrees and dry temps. I'll be catching up on yard work and making some pizzas most likely.

I don't know about anyone else, but I really needed to see some fireworks and remind me of how great a country we still have.

We will watch the Boston fireworks tomorrow night and crank the 1812 overture through the stero tuner. Have a great Independence Day everyone. Be safe.

Happy fourth to all you guys (and gals). I know I'm staying away from public places with large crowds today, you just never know. My wife and I are invited to a couple of small cook-outs later today, I think we'll try to stop in to both. We have rain in the forecast in the middle of the day so I'm not sure how things will go...enjoy the day hoarders and keep safe
