I burn a few pallets for the firepit because pallets are a bear to take apart and cut up for not much wood. Plus, dealing with all the nails and staples is nasty. The firepit seems to work for me because I just keep it confined to that small area. It burns fast.

The admins can decide what to do of its spam. Just skip it if it bugs you.

I split up some pallets my first year when I ran out of dry wood. Like its been said...it's a pain but it burns.

When you first start to learn something new, it is not unusual to have lots of questions that everyone else thinks have been answered a hundred times.

Oh, no it doesn't really bother me. It's just when I see the guy posted about six threads last night in about 15 minutes and this one is about the best "quality" one, most others just total spam IMO. You hafta realize someone using this same user name has been posting the same kind of drivel over on AS and others for several years. Usually some silly or controversial post and then rarely if ever replys again in the thread unless it is just to stir the pot a lil more.
I'm all for joking around and having fun but there comes a day when It'd be nice if you become a "contributing member"
BTW, I see Mr gunnys user profile is now unavailable, banned?
I have no problem at all answering the same newb questions over n over as long as it is someone actually trying to learn not just "enjoying the sound of their voice"

And yes, I have burnt some pallet wood too. Some nice kiln dried (pallets) wood mixed into the load can save your bacon if your are trying to heat with "too wet" firewood...

I hope we give guys who post enough respect and not make comments that make them feel uneasy about either their wood hoarding knowledge or ability (or lack there of) to clearly convey a message on our forums.

This place is great partly because we encourage all questions and anyone to ask them.

That's a HUGE difference to another site that starts with an "H" and ends in the word "earth" and the biggest reason I left there.

I think if we have concerns about spammers, etc. that we need to let the admin now and they will take care of it.

Yep old pallets for kindling- they don't last for ever ( even on asphalt) so I always have a supply of ones with broken slats and such. Every once in a while I get a a few that are oak for the main runners.
