Propane Heart attack!

    I HATE THE $@#&king propane companies! I have two 100 gal tanks on each side of my house , which we very rarely use. So I open the mail today and they said they delivered 20.8 gals of propane @ $4.98 a gal!

    My head exploded:eek::mad::eek::mad::eek:o_O…. so I call them and said WTF over?! They commence to tell me I'm not locked into any rate and I didn't choose my winter plan, "which I never had before" then they proceeded to tell me they are under new ownership.

    Now folks, the Sailor I am and have been for many, many years CAME OUT and with a variety of new and interesting words:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:. The woman got nasty with me first, and she got hit with a BAZOOKA.

    They now "will" come get their dam tanks and I will "RIP" these propane heaters off the wall with great joy:D Oh, P.S. my neighbor pays $2.69 a gal and thats how he heats his home.

    4.98 a gallon o_Oo_O so does that mean they will credit your account a 4.98 gallon for all that are in your tanks when they pick them up? I bet they have a lower rate for that :LOL:

    You can have your grills propane tanks filled for less around here.

    (Nice job on the rant -- I'll score it at 7/10)

    They sure have a unique way to price propane. Electricity, oil are not priced out like that. They need a wake up call. Best way I know is not to buy any. The next is to raise a stink and give them a lot of bad press. There is little to no equality when you are dependent on large fossil fuel companies. They are counting on you not being able to excape their grasp. If you want to maintain your independence, you will need to be proactive and not allow local restrictions to be imposed.

    Let other people know about it.... Here are some reviews from two companies I narrowly avoided dealing with in the past.. I did my research and realized that it was going to be a headache BEFORE I did business with them..

    Also recommend putting a lock on the tank so they can not make unsolicited deliveries. I bought one of these when I was in a rental house and hooked on heating oil and had to deal with the above company.

    I had a company do that at our previous house. They came and filled the tank without us calling to tell them since they were in the area. It was a 1k gallon tank and they filled it with 750~ gallons. We had a $2400 bill in the mail and didn't know they filled it. I called them and they said they were filling everyone's tanks. I called a few more companies and had another tank brought and hooked up. The first company which then proceeded to wait 7 months to come get there tanks hoping we would use it and then owe them. They owed me for a little over 800 gallons of propane at their rate of $4.xx and didn't want it then. I got the other company at $2.50 or so a gallon.

    Yes I did, they said it was form a different supplier and they must have been locked into that price!

    No, it was usually, "come when I called" they took it upon themselves to fill the tanks. I have'nt used 100 gals of propane in over two years. The only time I use it is when we have to go away for a while to keep things in the house from freezing.
    My tanks, "originally" came with the service, about 20+ years ago. I do not pay a lease for them but I have no clue if I own them, It was never stated. This is the third carrier of propane since my first service, they have been bought and sold.

    Everything you said SM is exactly why I love my wood stoves;) Eventhough my neighbors think I'm completely nuts, stock piling wood like a squirrel and his nuts, I have no heating bills and my electric bills are very low compaired to my neighbors:p

    Thanks Stuck!!! I'll give it a look:cool: I know those bastards are trying to rip me off! It isnt the fact that I can't afford it, after fees and other BS on the bill it was $118.00. It's the pricipal of the whole thing:mad:
