So we started off sat with a bang!!! Just good food at the house!!! Then Sunday I cooked on the trailer grill! Started cooking at 11am and served at 12:30 cooked 290 hamburger patty's and 190 hotdogs!!! Fun day!!! To finish the day off we had a Cajun boil..... Good stuff sorry no pics of that!!!
Rep for the rear window sticker. I've always heard Texas takes BBQ serious, but 290 burgers and 190 dogs makes the hearsay true!
Hey H_H_57, this may be a stupid question but I'm guessing that your "handle" there is wild hog hunting? we don't have them up here but all I hear abouut is what a pest they are. Now I can see that if your farming and they are eating and rooting up all your fields, but gotta think that as I understand it it's open season as many as you can shoot……… are they not fit to eat? Almost free ham & bacon sound's pretty good from here. What's the story?
Yes lots of pigs here I like to hog hunt with dogs and we sell the to high fence hunting ranches. I eat lots of pigs every year. They do not put on fat like you would think and the wild ones do not make good bacon too lean super dry. I have fed several in a pen for long periods of time but they do not put on much fat. We make all kinds of things out of them. I eat it fresh most of the time chops fresh on the grill and fresh ham in the crock pot not cured. Great stuff ribs are super tuff. Now this may sound bad but I like to take the little 5-7 pounders and skin them and split them. Put them on the grill and the bones fall out super tastey!!! But yes we eat lots of hogs!!
