Well, too much rain to go out on the lake with the boat today.:headbang:

That ruins our plans. I'll clean it up more now, so hopefully next weekend we can use it.

Didn't see no Rebel soldiers up thayh did yah? - wernt foolish enough to march up there:D

I lived in Salisbury, NC(first stint in the true south) for a while, and there was a monument for Maine soldiers who perished in the poor prison camp conditions http://docsouth.unc.edu/commland/monument/72/

We had lunch and decided to hit the road again. We drove the Jeep all over 6 towns this afternoon... lotta fun. Along the way we found a very small sandy beach area on Lake Anasagunticook that she's talking about bringing the grandboys to. Shallow with lots of sandbar to play on... not many people either... all right, I took a couple pitchahs...

Saw this little island "lighthouse" camp out there too. Can see it on Google Maps. Cool. They'd frown on making an island like that now, for sure.

Yeah Civil war stuff that far north seems off - I barely knew that there was a company of soldiers that ended up in Salisbury NC, had it not been for someone at the watering hole telling me about it.

Surprise for me was breakfast out at the Seahorse Cafe. Drove down to Telegraph Cove and enjoyed Swedish pancakes in the sunshine.

The cove looks quite different from when Campinspecter lived here as a child

    Breakfast was great

Afterwards we took the ferry over to Mom's to mow the lawn and do garden work. Gorgeous day.
