Another reason I like where I live. Only garter snakes here.

My BIL was not home at the time so she called a friend who lives close by and he came to take care of it.

Man, thats some good meat right there... My cousin fixed some rattlesnake for a family reunion once it was good... When he was alive you never know what kinda of meat he was bringing. It was always best to eat and enjoy then ask questions...

Did she get to at least keep the rattlers? It was sure a pretty one. But had to go too close to home, especially with the dog and the kid nearby.

Hate snakes. Those that can harm you and are in your space need to be removed. I would prefer that they are eliminated around the homes. Are there any friendly animals that are good at keeping snakes out of a yard?

The camera would not have been my first choice of things to shoot that with! I'm ok leaving them alone in the woods. Around my house, not so much.

Edit: Saw he has been permanently relocated.....

Reminds me of a few weeks ago when a neighbor called me because she had a snake in the house. Turned out to be a milk snake and we got it out easily. I don't care to handle snakes but not particularly afraid of most. Shoot, I even stepped on a sidewinder once. Then I teased it so I could watch what it would do. My wife was not happy over that one.

A couple days ago we also saw a large blue racer as we were riding the atv. We have several of those and they are harmless....but fast!

I did not have alot of fear of snakes til 1990, a large diamond back was in my home :hair: Usually calm husband told me in a voice I hadn't heard before to keep the dogs in the bathroom with me (getting ready for work in am).... He was afraid to damage the wall and door with a gun, and the shovels were outside the door the snake was against Since we were renting, poor old large snake got a broad head behind the skull..... We had 2 more over the next 2 decades. No thank you!.
