    Holy $&@#!!!!! That would freak me right out. Some trees are just off limits, and that would be one of them.

    I don't think you could make the typical vegetarian cookies out of that tree.

    Looks like the red sap is just around the sapwood where it meets the bark.

    There are a lot of weird trees in the world and that one has to be near the top for weird.

    yeah I noticed that too a lot like sugar maple most sap is just under bark.. Been in South Australia did not see one of those!

    Of course, the island of Socotra where the dragon's blood tree grows is sorta super difficult to get to, never mind haul logs out of. You can fly in via Yemen if you're feeling adventerous. Quite a few trees endemic to Socotra (found only there)- some lots more weird.
    Seems those trees are threatened- no young-uns being sighted.
