I volunteered to be on the museum board and said I would "help" with the moving of a historic log cabin from the fairgrounds site to the Museum site.

It quickly turned into a part time job! :)

Woke up to clear sunny skies - a rarity here as we usually have fog in the morning. I think it is going to be a hot one until the westerlys start this afternoon. Better than summer weather going on.

We finished my parents fence today, with my 11 year old son using the impact gun to screw the picket fasteners in. He is big enough now it is time to start learning some of the tools. Porch is coming along. Probably 80% done now. Time for all the trim work over the next two days. Parents are happy.

Just finished revamping the primary entrance from our driveway into the house. The driveway slopes away from the existing porch in 2 direction. Who ever designed the step coming up to the porch obviously ran into a problem due to the fact that there was not enough elevation to go to 2 steps, but the one step was @ an odd dimension. Since the bride and I are getting older and are starting to enjoy some joint issues, I decided to redesign the entire approach to one 6' left angle ramp instead of stairs.
Much better now, our joints are already thanking us. Now, to figure out how to put some anti-skid to the ramp when it is wet. Made the decking out of 5/4 pressure treated. Thought about using the self adhesive anti-skid tape, but I don't think it will work well on the porous wood. Anybody have any suggestions?

Was at a friend's house last week, and he had coated his deck and stairs with an anti-skid paint. VERY effective. Reminded me a little of truckbed liner, but not slippery at all.
He said he got it at HD, but I don't think he mentioned a brand. It had been on there for at least a couple years and looked brand new.

Might stop in there myself as we're making a Dr.'s trip for my wife's dad. I'll take a gander too.

I built a total of 7 of these adirondak chairs for the firepit in the backyard. 2 of the 3 of these chairs (in the pic) are going to the landowner that allows me to use a corner of his property to cut my tree length on. A little bit of sanding tomorrow and then staining. These chairs are some comfy by the fire and the arms work so well as beer holders.

After staining my rear deck I noticed the decking was slippery when it got wet and dewey, I installed the skid proof tape on the stairs, works good. Looks like sandpaper with a sticky backing

Those look like a slightly modified version of Normy's.
I still have all the templates I made many moons ago for those, and keep thinking I should make some more.
    Nice, and yep, comfy.

These templates came from Pinterest, my wife liked the chairs from the pics she found.
The driveway in front of the garage looks like a mini-Adirondack factory. Might start taking orders.

Nice job on the chairs My IS heats my home!

My son and I just finished cutting about 1/3 of the grass down at camp. And now it is time to relax for the rest of the day. One or two cold cans of beer and then a dinner of Parmesan incrusted chicken with home made mac & cheese and salad! Tasty!

Excuse me. I have a lot to do over the next three months. Is there any way to add more time to the days? :picard:

I made hard templates from countertop substrate.....the gooder stuff, dense........
This is a pic of a pic from back in the late 80's. The back slats are more splayed.......I think I like yours better.

If you find out, market it. You'll be rich.
Personally, I need more energy than time.:picard:

Gasman, make the differentiation between what you HAVE to do versus what you WANT to do. You'll probably find some time to enjoy life instead of working it away. Life is too short as it is, make the best of each day. Just sayin'.............................
