Right where I want to be.
I usually just start from scratch. All my important stuff is stashed elsewhere, so the process is fairly easy, although somewhat time consuming.
Linux is much easier nowadays, but still struggles with some things.
    Anyway, keep at it.

I restored it with a windows 7 disk because I can't get the Asus discs to work
I used to screw around with a lot of this stuff, fixing up laptops and such,, but I'll be darned I have forgotten a lot of stuff I used to know.
I'm going to have my daughter help me She is the computer guru.
I just don't enjoy screwing around with this stuff anymore I just want the PC to work
there's no problem with my important stuff it is always kept on my NAS

I have always found it easiest to start over fresh with a oem disk as well.

Really wish I could talk more people into doing this. Couldn't tell you how many times I've had to tell people their memories are gone.

I have two discs, , 1 says windows 7 recovery disc , the other one says windows 7 Drive Disc, I put the recovery disk in and reboot and push the escape like the manual says but it doesn't work,, I don't know maybe I should install drivers from the drive disk 1st, computer is an Asus U50F.
I restored the computer with the windows 7 ultimate disc I have, it works but that's not the way I want it.
My daughter will figure it out when she gets back in town.
This crap is driving me crazy:hair:

Search for Pale Moon browser, it is FireFox with all the crap stripped out of it.

Hard to help without having the computer in front of me.

Got the PC fixed up, turns out I didn't need my daughters help.
She is running like a well oiled machine now buddy.
Nothing like a fresh start, once you get past the frustration and time, involved
