    I think I was the only person who was smiling all day knowing it was rainy and cold crappy outside day. Woke up and started the stove from embers (no match needed) and left for work with a comfy warm house for the Wife. As if on cue, the power went out for 1/2 hour this afternoon, but, never fear, the Wife had the fire stoked up and never skipped a beat. In contrast, our oil heat requires electricity Coals are down now. Time for a new load of splits... Happy as a pig in slop!:D:D:D

    Let the wife's load burn down to late coals. Filled up again with Ash splits to about 3/4 full fire box. Now working on air control to get all the smoke burned but not burn too fast. Fun project for the rest of the night. First lesson - wait 3-5 minutes between air adjustments to figure out the "steady-state" burning conditions.

    Wow, you are into it. I was able to have 5 fires in my new stove before calling it quits until fall. I too am looking forward to the fun you are having now. Enjoy!
