I just picked this up from a guy who bought it new a couple of months ago, to cut wood for the stove in the house he shared with his girlfriend. One breakup later, he was moving out and wouldn't be cutting wood anymore. The saw is pristine aside from some dust and a couple of scratches on the bar. Most of original warranty remains. Includes a Woodsman case, scrench, tuning screwdriver and two Stihl RM3 chains in excellent condition. $300 + shipping.

Thanks, Dexter. I know it's not a giveaway price, but that's about what I think it would yield on eBay after the company took its cut. I figured why not offer it here and see if one of our members would like the commission instead.

I don't blame you. The model doesn't get so much attention as the bigger pro saws, but it feels really good to handle, light and nimble.

Is this the homeowner model that has no priming bulb?

It hadn't occurred to me to check, since none of my saws have priming bulbs, but I guess it is; there's no priming bulb in sight.

Older 025 's had a bulb. But newer models don't. IIRC

Thats a nice looking saw. It looks like with a little TLC (the dust and oil) that the saw would be 'almost new' looking. You should get asking...

Yep, I have an MS250 and an MS290 Farm Boss. The 250 is a nice running, comfortable saw to use.

There are 3 versions of the MS250 that I am aware of (USA models).

The base MS250 - Through the side chain adjuster, no primer, conventional recoil starter.
The MS250C - Quick chain adjuster, primer bulb, conventional recoil starter.
The MS250C-BE - Quick chain adjuster, primer bulb, spring-loaded Easy2Start system.

IMO - the primer is a welcome addition to that saw. Makes it a 2-3 pull machine when cold. I love the older MS250C, especially if it has been converted back to the conventional chain adjuster. :)

I've not seen an 025 with a primer, doesn't mean it didn't exist tho. I think there might have been an 025C similar to the MS250C.

Maybe his is an 025C? Buddy dropped it off on Monday. Said it won't stay running :)

Told him to ad it to the pile. Will look tonight. I know his has a Primer. But unsure of Quick chain adjust?

I don't know if the QCA was available on the 025 or not. I was about 9-10 years old at the time.

With Stihl, anything is possible. They are really good at making small changes in between production runs and not really advertising it.

I remember when someone told you about CAD? You said you were a modest man and couldn't ever see having that many saws ;)

Now look at you. Good case of CAD and 10 nice saws :) Proud of you Jon.

If this was 3 yrs ago, I never would have met you. Those ash trees would have never stood a chance. My 036 Pro was what I used at your house in O-town. Stihl one of my favorite saws.

That's a super clean 250. With lots of extras. Should sell. Have you tried to sell anywhere else?

Jon, might be tough to sell saws this close to x-mas. Hang in there. Things should get moving again in a few weeks!

It's fine, I haven't tried to sell it elsewhere yet. I can put it up on eBay if need be, just thought I'd offer it here first.
