surprised by the lack of bark on those rounds, stuff over here has a real thick bark. So thick that i at times strip it off with my splitter to help speed up seasoning times

I only cut standing dead or laying. And it comes of real easy in big chunks at that stage. I hate bringing bark home.

Larch is said to be great firewood. Is it the smaller stuff in the pile?
About same BTU as Doug Fir.

You get into much lodgepole pine?

Ketchum, Boise, and most of my time in Idaho on the slopes at Sun Valley. It's been a couple of years, but we'll go back again. We really liked Boise.

It is great and just a little higher btu's and 20$more a cord. And yup its the smaller stuff with the bark still on it, i dont cut much pine everyone wants the doug fir and larch. Were does lodge pole rank on the btu list?

Lodgepole is good wood, not as good as the douglas fir, but better than most pines. I like the way it burns.

Nice looking wood you have there! :) I like the look of that Douglass fir. I don't know anything about Larch, I don't have either out my way.

So how much does a cord of wood sell for out in Idaho?

Thats close to the same as here in western WA in the winter time for a cord of seasoned Doug Fir $200-$250 according to what I see on C/L anyway. I have not actually bought or sold any, in the off season I see it at $175 to $200
