Working on a Stihl 019T. Some one else has been into this saw before and it would not run.
So far found the coil rubbing on the flywheel, fuel line had a bad kink, the metering diaphram in the carb installed reverse of what it should have been.

Optima is no longer the brand it used to be.

I am now running the Walmart Max line, made by johnson controls, for my winch. They work good.

That battery I have to retire is from 2000, shortly after that, lots of internet forums from jeep forums to boat forums said that optimas were not as good as they used to be. I don't know if the materials changed internally, but I have a feeling that the old supplier/ material for the cells got expensive and the manufacturer went to a less expensive and supposedly as good of a comparable vendor/ material, and it ended up not being as good.

See, I'm a Buyer as my profession in manufacturing facilities. I see this all the time.

    Goes who owns optima now?......

    Johnson Controls. HQ'd in Milwaukee.

I wouldn't doubt the brand you use is the same cells as the optima.

That is a pretty good size area you mow. Looks nice. Looks like a great play area also.

Dixie makes a heck of a mower, our local dealer and I don't speak any more... long story.

But my neighbor is a Scag dealer, so I have my eye on a 22 hp-60".... just need to sell a few more buildings! I'm running a John Deere Z425, would be fine for a town yard, not 2 acres of yard.

BTW... I like the after-market cooler option you got on there!

I'm not sure why but I like to have two saws on the bench together. I started this little dude.I'm still debating whether I want to get the jug machined or not.

I used to run derby cars! I had a optima yellow top at first and then switched over to the Napa branded gel battery's. They were about $60 less if I remember right. I had that battery twice as long as the optima! I wasn't running a alternator and running between 30 mins to 1 hr 30 at a time and it never skipped a beat. Starting a boiled over no water left headers glowing small block Chevy and big block 454 takes a toll on it .

Nice mower! Makes ours look like a baby! We are missing about the same acreage with ariens max zoom zr 60 I believe. 60" deck and 26 HP kowa! We are able to more at 8 mph if my man boobs and belly can handle it. Thinking about investing in a bro to help that out! We used to mow with a farmall c with a 5 foot woods mower deck and would take me in man's terms almost a 12 pack to mow with all the spilt ones. Now I'm down to a six pack and less spillage! One thing these are missing is suspension.

I only had a few cuts to make, so no need for gas mix or bar oil.... yeah... forgot I ran her dry last time I used it.:headbang::doh:

SOOOO, today was bring gas mix and bar oil to work day!

I looked at the napa batteries. They are about the same as the optima, price wise.

I think I'll go with the road runner agm from fleet farm. Is $135, and has a great warranty.
