I loved riding my old Triumph through the mountains in the fall, when I was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. years ago.---- I hope to make it back there sometime again.
I was there too.------ 1/17 air Cav. 82nd. Airborne.--- 3 years was enough for me.---Lost my brother because of the Nam war.
He likes it re-upped 3 times ,put in 20 and have a nice pension at 38 years old . Don't want to hijack this thread ,back on point
Yeah, you say that, but my wife went to school at Humboldt State. It wears on you, the fog, cool, and little sun. Great place to visit though. I'll never forget riding my TLS through the eucalyptus groves on route 1 in Mendocino county. What a memorable ride, with that amazing smell of eucalyptus. We did get married at the coast at the Albion River Inn, just south of Mendocino in summer of 2011.
I spent many weekends back in the 70's in Mendocino-- Abalone diving and spear fishing. Albion has a small fishing fleet-right? The pictures that I posted are about ten miles north of Fort Bragg, Ca. and of the town of Jenner.---You're right about the fog wearing on you!
Yes, I think they do. There's boats at that inlet where the river hits the ocean. That's why that looked really familiar. Just north of fort Bragg. So you were one of those crazies spear fishing and diving for abalone? Very cool, but scary. I've heard stories. We need to get back there. My wife is from the bay area and she spent a lot of time in Chico, Mendocino and Humboldt counties.
I won't even put my little toe in the ocean now. I was young and dumb back in those days. Oh yeah and drunk some of the time.
I don't consider myself to be even an amateur photographer, but I like to take pictures. Was able to snap this one today of a B17 that comes to town every summer and gives rides. Their flight path usually follows the river which brings them right over our house. It's a pretty awesome sight and I always stop to watch, every time it goes over.
cool pic norky We did a job at the brewery in Latrobe Pa (Rolling Rock)a couple years ago. They have an air show there (Arnold Palmer Regional Airport) and were flying over the site for two days. That was really cool. Jets doing all kinds of stuff
Thanks man , I finally up graded my camera Canon g 16 it's a point and shoot with a lot of bells and whistles , I'm really enjoying shooting with it . Here's a few pics of the sunrise on the Niagara River about 12 miles upstream from the Falls I was home last week visiting mom.
I have a couple pics to share....not nearly as nice as a lot of the pictures posted but I hope you like them. A Well Camouflaged Visitor to Our Garden Early Morning in Iowa
