Needing new bearings/seals for husky 350 that I'm doing a case swap on. Also need a couple odds and ends for it.
Where do you guys order from that is reasonable?

Also, any tips and/or tricks to bump up performance? I'm planning on deleting the base gasket if there's room. Muffler mod if I can make up my mind how to do it. This is a 44mm cylinder with a flat top piston. Zama C3EL18 carb. Cylinder and piston are in excellent shape just wanting to get all I can out of her without spending a ton. I already put in the good metal intake clamp a while ago.

    Thanks

My first search for parts I go with Northwood Saw, then Ebay. I just put crank seals in a 2150 which is the same saw. I kept it cheap so I got 2 off Ebay for $9 shipped from Florida. I didn't opt for bearing cause they are much heavier duty than the rest of the saw and felt fine with oil in them. As for a muffler mod I just cut off the deflector, open up the exsisting hole. Hammer a new deflector and braze it on keeping a screen intact. Also helps prevent the top cover from being burned.

I take it the bearings just push out of the seals? Never tried, but both sets that I have look and feel fine,I thought maybe they were pressed in?
And that's very nice work on the muffler, I'll have to give it a go. Did you make that deflector out of some sheet metal? Looks really good!!!
I'm headed to eBay now to source those seals, thanks square file:dex:
Here's where I'm at now, got everything all shined up but I'm stuck til I get the seals.

The seals do push over the bearing but over time they form kind of tight. I take a knife and cut the sealing surface enouch so I can use a punch to knock the bearing out. It doesn't take much, its not a press fit.

I remember a guy (Homelite410 ) that stuffed the engine from a 359 into a 350 chassis. Heard it ran pretty good too. ;) That should wake up your 350 nicely..... :dex:

You can buy a 346xp muffler bracket and cut off the section that attaches on the starter side.

I hadn't thought of cutting off the mount. The bracket itself helps enough?

Yes, they don't work loose on 353 or 346xp.

I'm pretty sure you'd leave the clutch-side mount intact, so that the upper felling dog screw can lend some support.

Derail away...If you're learning I'm all for it. I must have a rare 350 because my muffler has never loosened up!
