YES!! Thats it!! He did them 1940-1944 'ish in california. I do not have pics on the planes he worked on.....family history and my fathers birth record to verify the dates. They returned to colorado a few years later, then he worked on commercial airlines at the Denver airport for several more decades.

The pics I have seen were via the internet. I cannot verify the bomber that did tourist rides across the resevoir I used to live over, but they were breathtaking, both the sound and the sight of such a large vehicle in the air.

We had a nice restored p38 buzz over or cabin several years ago. Actually I was probably not even a teenager then. And I still remember it pretty vividly. It was very low, and very very cool.

What an awesome bird! I had the unbelievable chance to fly in a Confederate Air Force B17 a few years back.

I sat in the navigator spot....then soon after we lifted off the gentleman sitting in the nose gunner/ bombardier seat started to feel a little overwelmed with his spot so we traded.

Just in that half hour of gentle flying made me feel so much more appreciative of what those young men (nearly boys) went through on those horrible flights over Germany and other axis countries.

    Amazed anyone came back alive!

Kevin and I are sitting at the Dallas Fort Worth airport, waiting to board our plane home.

Caught a huge break today. Found out our flight home had been cancelled, but we were able to get things reworked so we are getting back to my bride only an hour late!

Kevin tried to keep up with the forum while we were out in California.

While we were there a little 4.1 magnitude quake hit the house. It was centered 10 miles from us. Kevin took it like a pro...not a leaf shook on him. Well..I guess that goes without saying.

Okay, lunch is over and I don't want to clean up. Well, maybe so I can sit and relax with my knitting and surfing FHC!

I'm dehydrating the rest of my morel stash I got last Saturday. This way we can enjoy them whenever.

I plan on heading out to my land tomorrow to find more morels, and at least split, or haul some more wood in. Oh yeah, ride the ATV too.

It's been raining all day here today. Yesterday was amazing. Today, not so much. Hopefully tomorrow it will be at least not raining some of the day tomorrow.

I was planning on planting my garden today. That's not happening, I think I'll wake up early and hit the woods and get back in the way early afternoon. So maybe then I can plant the garden.

Next weekend is the superbike double header at Road America, and I'm taking Friday off to watch practice. So, not much will get done next weekend unless it's Friday late afternoon after practices.

That's what summertime is all about, so nothing gets done. It will get done when it gets done. :D

Today's project is to finish repairing my fiberglass flagpole that was damaged over the winter. The repaired areas are primed and paint is next. Weather is moving soon and I really want to finish it for Memorial Day.

Thoughts of our soldiers that made the ultimate sacrifice, and of those who served this country are on my mind today.

I was able to get a little work done on the trail this morning before it started raining to much. Glad we are getting the rain. We need it. I moved some dirt from a high spot into a low spot, did some back dragging/leveling and called it good for now. Moved some flat rocks that I had saved on a pallet and brought them up to my wife and placed them as a walking path through her front flower garden. She is expanding that with rose bushes. Then put everything away and did some exercising in the house. Lots of up and down the stairs and cleaning some things out of the garage as well. I worked some overtime this past weekend so having the day off today is a gooder thing!

Used the Mountain Dew fueled tiller (me and the garden fork) to till up the garden. Planted the container plants including a watermelon, pumpkin, Japanese eggplant, zuchini, yellow and acorn squash. My bride already planted three tomato and three pepper plants (green, red and yellow bell) in the raise beds last week. Will add carrots, lettuce and beans later this week.

Worn out but if feels good to get this done!

Pounded rain so hard here all day, all you could do was look out the window. Be a couple of days before the processing area dries up enough to move around in it. I can only imagine how bad the bugs are gonna be after this rain.................

Got the garden tilled and weeded and the second planting of corn in. Better wheels installed on the second chicken tractor. Built a little step stool for the MIL. Made some lump hickory charcoal. About time for a shower and a couple barley pops.

You got more than we did here Rotti. It did rain here, off and on. Sometimes a good steady drizzle for a long while. Other times sprinkling and raining harder, then up and down. But no hard down pours. Hopefully we got enough to help out with the farmer's crops.

Dropped a Jack in the donation bucket for the Vets outside the grocery store - made the guys day.
rendering some beef ribs in the oven, to much rain for the grill - makes me realize what first world problems we have

Thanks to those who fought and lost their lives on this day we confuse with summertime, commercialism and what not(can we get a father, son & holy spirit emoticon)

Started the morning off at the splitter. I had 36 rounds to split to finish what I had from wood collected 2 years ago. I went through about 2/3 of that until the heat and humidity kicked in. Will finish the rest in the morning. I will say, having this little hot tub does my back wonders when I come home from the lot and jump in for 30 mins. It takes a bit of the back soreness away. Until tomorrow. :axe:

Bucked up, hauled and stacked about 2 cord of logs for the wood pile. Only thing left is the cleanup of the yard. Watched as my neighbor drive his car through someone else's lawn and wondered what he could be up to? Kinda glad I was outside on the pile or I may have been the victim of such a feat!!....Just may be time for the old boy to give up his driver's license!
