Have you thought of gold colour walls? My living room and kitchen are light gold and even on dark days, they are bright. I don't mean yellow because that can be hard to deal with.
I would paint the Ceiling with the 1st color and the walls with the second color, it appears to be a small area and brighter colors will make it feel larger.
How about Navajo white, Standish white and Flat white (trim, walls, ceiling). Navajo white, Chilli pepper red, Flat white. Navajo white, Homestead green, Flat white. We could never make that color combination work here. All paints are BM. Our great room (kitchen, dinning, living room) is in the red, all trim work in the house is Navajo white. Master suite is Standish white, My den is Homestead Green. The bosses sewing room is Dream-whip, the 3/4 and 1/2 bath laundry room are Mountain Laurel. Good luck.
Here's a few examples of how the brown that we used looks. No lights on at all, just indirect sunlight from windows. It never feels dark in here, it does have a warm feel though. When we first moved here, the wife painted the living room and hallway blue. Her paint color choosing privileges have since been revoked and I'm not allowed to speak of the blue paint.
Behr burnt almond 280F-4. It's a color that's been discontinued, but they will still mix it from that number. They probably have the same color under a different name. I don't know why they do that crap, job security for the color namers I guess. http://www.behr.com/consumer/ColorDetailView/280F-4
Well...there are some colors we can agree to do without...like the green in my grandmothers house...but it did match the peach counter tops
Wife did a weird color in the basement bathroom and I was kind of worried that it would look bad. I didn't want the paint to ruin a bathroom that I spent all winter building, but I actually like it.
Would it be easier to cut edges between cielings and walls or trim around 8 can lights instead? I asked hubby to pre paint the the cieling areas where can light fixtures before they were installed to avoid having to trim around them, they are currently shade #1, which would go nicely with Arti 's suggestion..... This part of the room is 20 x 22'
That looks like the "Oops" paint my friend used in her TV room! I was surprised how nice it was, too.
Woodja consider most of the walls in shade #2 and one or two accent walls in an olive color with white trim? Me thinks it wood feel warm and earth tones without being too dark. Just an idear.
My first experience in picking paint colours didn't go over very well with the rest of the family. I love orange colour so I was going to go with a faint peach colour in the bathroom. On the paint chip, I thought the palest was just too pale so I went with one two down from it. when you walked into the bathroom, it said HI, I AM AN ORANGE BATHROOM. I kind of liked it but I still get ribbed about that when I go to pick colours. Nowadays stronger, darker colours are all in vogue and it might have gone over better. I really like Norky basement bathroom.
WW, YOU NAILED IT for me, thank you WildWildWest brought home new paint chips for me. I tried very hard with the first colors I posted, but in any combination, they were not what I need, as I see these walls all day, every day. I looked them up at the website, I am entering the gold/yellow area and like them better on the walls in my home.
