I told him I had finished splitting it already and thanked him(a couple of $). He asked if I needed any more and I said yes. Found this at home when I got there. A mix of maples... I believe "tipping fees" might be a term regarding dump fees at landfills or compost sights in that area of the country?? I used to hear that a lot on NY/NJ job sites. The fee to tip the trailer is x amount.
Yep, then there's our town center that doesn't even take wood. They will pick up branches and they shred them. For $35 a half hour, and $1.50 a minute after 30 minutes. Then again, we have some of the lowest taxes in the area, and it's a highly desirable place to live.
Correct. In our area the fee is calculated by the pound & if you don't have an established account it must be paid CASH.

In that case the guy dropping off the wood is making money buy using KJ's yard ? Tipping a six pack each load & KJ might not find his driveway if the word got out. LOL Save ($$) dump costs & get beer at KJ's
They usually drop off wood during the day. If you notice, what is in my yard is pretty clean stuff. As they do the job they throw the stuff for me in the truck. Then they bring that to my house and go back to clean-up the site All the trash goes to the dump. Everybody benefits. I get clean rounds. They don't have to make two trips to the dump and they don't have to pay (by the pound) to dump the heavy stuff that they left in my yard. I would love to share a beer or two with them BUT, after my house, they are going back to the job site with some big toys they still have to play with... Based on the wood they bring me I think they appreciate the cash and it doesn't cost me much more than a couple of beers would.
Those are some nice rounds, you've got there. And you didn't even have to load them into the truck and out of the truck. So thats two less touches that you've done. Well worth a few $$$...
Thats a nice haul KaptJaq and no doubt you're treating them right or they wouldnt keep bringing it-like you said, it works out well for all concerned, and as for your concerns? Hoard on brother!
