Now they say 33 tomorrow night. It is 82 right now. Nuts... I see some beans up in several spots. Some may be replanting if it does freeze. Not sure if it will harm the apples or not as they are pretty much past blossom now.
I plant beans last. They like warmth, above 40° at night. Another small fire tonight , to be 36°, Again, I hope it's the last one of the season
Hd that looks like our forecast on the other side of the lake from you. Be firing the stove tonight- about 50 out, overcast, wind has a bit of a bite.
yep I'm going out back to get some wood right now, definitely gotta be a fire tonight they're saying 34 for tonight now
Yup. 33 predicted here tonight. Not good for sure. There no doubt will be some losses. I was hoping it would stay cloudy but it is now breaking up. Also if the wind stays up it would help but no doubt at dawn there won't be much wind and that is when the frost will form.
To be 35° here tonight. Forecasting warming to the 40°s at night , storms moving thru, rain for the weekend, mid 40°s at night Maybe this will be the last night with a fire. But with the rain, coming, I doubt it.
Yeah, I keep needing a little heat. Been getting by with cooking a pot of beans on a regular basis. Temp up , air quality down .
I haven't had a fire in the stove in a month and a half! We are getting 80s or more in the day and mid 60s at night. I don't currently envy you Yankees. I will come July!
It appears we dodged a bullet last night. I did see that Lansing got down to 33. I think our low was 36 and all seems well outside. 38 predicted for tonight. Typically though we have some pretty cold nights into early June. Sometimes much later. I'll never forget the time we roasted in 96 degree heat and humidity only to freeze 2 days later with a low of 34 degrees. That is difficult to get used to but easier the 34 than the 96 for me at least in this area. In AZ 96 was not so bad.
35° here last night, Waited till 11 am , finally started a fire to warm the house up. Cloudy & 60° , fire may last for tonight too.
I was beginning to think we were done, and was pleased there were still several arm-loads of wood left in the woodshed. But had two fires last week, burning tonight (37 and dropping, might get a frost), and expecting colder on Friday night. Last week I loaded the stove about 80% at 10pm, and was able to re-start from the coals at 6pm the next night. The black flies arrived before I finished splitting the trees cut this winter - only about 20% done - does not deserve a pic. Splitting some trees that grew out in an open field, which is much slower than splitting the straight 12" diameter forest-grown poles that I usually do (as if that were why I'm so behind).
It was 63 in the house this morning, just started a fire. Gonna be chilly Friday night, may need another fire Saturday morning.
Yep 63 is getting a little chilly in the house. Definitely fire time. My wife and I have become spoiled with the wood stove keeping the house warm without worrying about propane usage.
