Well finished splitting yesterday and getting the yard cleaned up. Didn't end up hurting the lawn too bad considering there was about 2 cubic yards of sawdust I picked up. Separated the Hickory. Where the last pallet was.
You must be super-human or something. I just can't see how it is possible to get so much done as quickly as you have. Go enjoy a beer, you deserve it!
I don't know how yall keep your grass around the processing area so nice. Mine looks like a freakin sawmill
Nah it's pretty easy, I gave up drinking. Actually I could get a lot more done if I didn't play 18 holes of golf every day. Between driving to the course, walking 18 holes and return, that eats up a good 5 hours a day and I don't get a day off.
There better not be any "yellow flowers". I have a chemical applicators license and a small business applying chemicals and fertilizers. It's a small thing, all word of mouth where the neighbors asked me to do their yards too. I work 8-9 days/year. But when I fertilize, I go 4,000 #'s in two days. I specialize in yards of 1 acre or more. Mine is 3.8 acre and about 3 in lawn. The most difficult weed for me to deal with is those dreaded wild violets, they are very tough. If a second treatment was done 2-3 weeks after they could be totally eradicated, but for the size lawns I deal with, it's just not practical and wouldn't pitch this to the clients as the lawns look pretty good right now. For lawn care aficionados, you get what you pay for in herbicides. Hint, Triclopyr and Sulphentrazone, and 100% controlled release stabilized urea in fertilizer.
I got all the rounds up on pallets right away and wanted all the pallets that would not be used full time gone before the grass started growing. I pretty much accomplished this with the exception of where the last pallet was. All hauling was done when the ground was frozen. Regarding the lawn, see post #50. The materials would be hard for the average person to purchase, but not impossible. The fertilizer for the next application is da bomb. It is the biggest seller for the company I deal with, (they supply golf courses). It slowly releases over 8 weeks and has 2% Iron in it, (makes grass dark green),
Oh I can grow a nice lawn with the right herbicides and fert. I'm just trying to figure out how your processing area has actual grass? Mine is buried under a few inches of chips, dust and bark
I got all the sawing done when the ground was frozen and picked up the debris before the grass started growing. I got most of the sawdust with a rake, then ran the JD mower with powerflow bagger over it to suck up any leftover sawdust.
